Job Summary: Sales Application Engineer

The Sales Applications Engineering team will participate heavily in discussions led by our business development team & commercial management team with potential customers to ensure project proposals meet all technical requirements for the application. He or she has a solid technical background with process engineering in proposal development, front-end design, and detailed process design. He or she has extensive experience in working with licensors in integrating various technologies and developing process solutions. During project execution, Sales Application Engineer will provide technical expertise to the project deployment team concerning product integration and commissioning in customer applications. Additionally, she or he will advise the R&D and Product Development team at Syzygy on customer requests to facilitate the development of more competitive product offerings. This position will be based in Houston.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a customer-facing engineer who can advise on Syzygy’s all-electric reactor and provide technical support throughout the product sales lifecycle.
  • Work intimately with business development, product development, and technical teams to ensure Syzygy provides top customer experience and that product offerings are designed to meet evolving customer needs in customer’s plants.
  • Write the technical portion of the proposal in collaboration with Senior Commercial Manager and R&D/Technical team
  • Maintain expert-level technical knowledge of our all-electric reactor for ammonia splitting, CO2 valorization, and photocatalytic steam methane reforming and can advise the deployment of our products effectively in all key applications and markets
  • Promote a culture of engineering fundamentals and technical quality within Syzygy

Requirements:

  • Have a Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5-12 years of experience as Process Engineer in an EPC company or their customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Have experience interacting with customers to provide product recommendations and technical support throughout product sales cycles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate proposals and negotiate agreements.
  • Have worked very closely with EPC/customers and have involved in Pre-Feed, Feed, Detailed Engineering, and Commissioning of multiple chemical production facility
  • Have experience developing technical solutions to product integration challenges faced by customers
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; strong verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills; strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and time management skills; self-starter; demonstrated leadership skills; high attention to detail
